On Saturday, the federal capital reported 57 new Corona infections. A look at the current statistics shows the number of infections in Vienna.
The Vienna Health Authority and the Medical Crisis Staff of the City of Vienna announced the new Corona figures on Saturday. According to them, 140,927 positive tests have been confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic. 137,885 people have recovered from the corona virus, 2,355 with or died from the virus. This means that currently, as of Saturday, 687 people are actively infected with the coronavirus in the federal capital.
Yesterday, Saturday, 93 new corona cases were reported throughout Austria, for comparison: as recently as last Saturday (26.06.2021), the figures were 176 new infections Austria-wide. Plus: not a single death has been reported within the most recent 24 hours. Currently, 141 people are in hospital treatment due to the Corona virus. Of these, 46 are being cared for in intensive care units.
As of July 1, 2021, far-reaching relaxations have been in effect in Austria, initiated by the federal government. The FFP2 obligation will no longer apply wherever there is 3G evidence, and where masks still have to be worn, such as in public transport or in retail, it will be possible to fall back on the mouth-nose protection (MNS), which is less onerous for many. But in Vienna, because of the highly dangerous delta variant, one goes one’s own way.
In terms of testing, only PCR tests and rapid antigen tests performed in pharmacies or test lanes are recognized. In addition, mandatory testing also applies to children between the ages of 6 and 12. In Vienna, there is also a restricted 3G rule: teachers, waiters, hairdressers, mobile care, etc must continue to test. Those who cannot provide proof of 3G must also wear an FFP2 mask.
