The week will be changeable. In the east it will be hot again, in the west significantly cooler.
On Tuesday, Austria lies on the front of a low over France in a southwesterly flow under the supply of hot air masses, but in the west the next cold front is already making itself felt. Thus, Tuesday starts sunny in many places. With the collapse of the foehn in the west, clouds as well as rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will soon move in. In the afternoon, the thunderstorm tendency will also increase in the southwest and generally over the mountains and the Bohemian Massif. It will remain sunny and hot in the east and southeast. The wind will blow in the east and in foehn areas partly still briskly from southeast to south, but during the day the wind will increasingly turn to the west. From 14 to 21 degrees in the morning, temperatures will rise from west to east to 19 to 38 degrees.
On Wednesday, dense clouds will dominate from Vorarlberg to Salzburg and western Lower Austria, and rain showers will fall repeatedly throughout the day. Further east, on the other hand, nightly residual clouds will soon dissipate. Thus, the sun will shine widely. With the sunshine, however, starting from the mountainous and hilly areas, spring clouds, rain showers and thunderstorms will soon form again during the day. The wind will come from the west to the northeast and will initially be moderate to brisk, especially in the east. 13 to 21 degrees in the morning, during the day from west to east 18 to 32 degrees.
On Thursday, the weather will be unstable under the influence of low air pressure. In the western half, rain showers are to be expected repeatedly with a mix of some sunshine and numerous dense clouds. Further east, too, sunshine and dense clouds will alternate. However, apart from a few thundery showers over the mountainous and hilly areas, it should remain largely dry here. The wind will be moderate, in the east initially still brisk from south to west. Early temperatures will range around twelve to 20 degrees, with daytime highs around 19 to 30 degrees, with the highest values in the far east and southeast.
On Friday, a low pressure system will lie over the eastern Alps, causing widespread rain with dense clouds, especially in the western half. In some places, it will also rain heavily. In the eastern half, the sun will shine at least occasionally in addition to dense clouds. However, showers and thunderstorms are to be expected here as well until the evening. The longest sunny and dry spells will be from East Tyrol eastwards. The wind will come from west to northeast and blow moderately, in the Foehn valleys on the southern side of the Alps also briskly. In the morning, temperatures will range from eleven to 20 degrees and rise during the day from west to east to 17 to 29 degrees.
