The infection curve in Germany currently knows only one direction: upwards. For the third week in a row, the nationwide incidence is rising. And also with the new infections no relaxation seems at present in view.

The seven-day incidence has been rising for three weeks. According to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) this morning, it is at 15.0 – the previous day the value was 14.5, and at the most recent low on July 6, it was 4.9. Health offices in Germany reported 2768 new Corona infections to the RKI within one day, as further shown in the figures, which reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 04:28. A week ago, the figure for Germany had been 2203 infections.

The incidence was in the pandemic so far basis for many Corona restrictions, for example, in the context of the federal emergency brake, which expired at the end of June. In the future, other values such as hospital admissions are to be taken into account to a greater extent.

Across Germany, 21 deaths were recorded within 24 hours, according to the new data. A week ago, there had been 19 deaths. The RKI counts 3,761,169 proven infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected. The RKI gives the number of those who have recovered as 3,649,100. The number of people who died from or with the involvement of a confirmed infection with Sars-CoV-2 rises to 91,586.
