The major topic of the “Sommerministerrat” on Thursday was the fight against the Corona pandemic. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz stressed that unvaccinated people will sooner or later contract the Corona virus and appealed to be vaccinated.
There had also been an exchange of views on possible booster vaccinations, Kurz said at the Thursday noon press conference. “There is not yet a clear opinion from experts on boosters,” the chancellor said. However, he said, one is prepared to carry out booster vaccinations in autumn.
At the summer council of ministers, the federal government also discussed preparations for the start of school.
The economic situation, digitization at schools and the situation on the labor market were also among the topics discussed.
