Vaccination against the corona virus with all available vaccines is offered at the Austria Center Vienna from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day until Sunday as part of the vaccination campaign that started today. The manufacturers BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are available.

The vaccines from BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna can be used to vaccinate people aged twelve years and older. AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are also available to persons 18 years and older. The interval between the second partial vaccination can be arranged flexibly according to preference. With the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, only one sting is necessary for complete effectiveness. The following documents are to be brought along: identity card and if available an E-Card.

Yesterday, Monday, eight new vaccination boxes were opened, where vaccinations can also be given without registration. The boxes are located throughout the city – in Leopoldstadt, Neubau, Favoriten, Hietzing, Döbling and Liesing. The boxes are open daily from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 19:00. An exception is the location at Riesenradplatz in the Prater. Here, vaccinations are held daily from 10:00 to 15:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00.

Since the beginning of July, there has also been a vaccination box at Rathausplatz, which is open daily from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. On weekends, vaccination is also carried out in one box each on the Danube Island and at the Stadionbad, as well as on the Old Danube with the vaccination boat. Starting on Wednesday, two vaccination buses will also be touring the city, stopping at highly frequented locations and youth centers.

57.3 percent of Vienna’s population already vaccinated once
A total of 1,100,174 people in Vienna have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. This corresponds to 57.3 percent of the urban population. Of these, 943,588 people have already received the second injection – with the exception of the active ingredient from Johnson & Johnson, two doses are needed for complete protection from the vaccination. This means that 49.1 percent of the Viennese population have been fully vaccinated.
