The Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (Austrian Health Insurance Office) warns of fraudulent calls in which policyholders are offered light therapy.
Currently, insureds are once again receiving calls in which light therapy is allegedly offered in the name of the Austrian Health Insurance Office (ÖGK). “Hands off: these calls are an attempt to defraud. Do not go for it,” warns ÖGK in a statement.
With a supposedly new light therapy, insured persons of ÖGK are currently being lured by scammers. The callers are mostly female and claim to be working on behalf of the Austrian Health Insurance Office. They claim that one has been selected for a new type of light therapy and can try out this test offer in the course of a home visit by a therapist. The number of offers is limited, he said.
“These calls are an attempt to defraud. Therefore, do not respond to them and do not provide personal information under any circumstances!”
