Actually, “No Time to Die” was supposed to hit theaters in 2019. Then it had to be postponed because of Corona. Now the day of the premiere is fixed.
After several corona-related postponements, the premiere of the new James Bond film “No Time To Die” is finally set. The film is scheduled to be shown at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 28. Lead actor Daniel Craig, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and U.S. director Cary Joji Fukunaga plan to be on hand. In Germany, the film is scheduled for release on September 30. Originally, “No Time to Die” should have been released in cinemas as early as October 2019.
Farewell to Daniel Craig
Due to a change in the director’s chair and reworking of the script, the release was postponed twice. Shortly after the film was ready, the coronavirus pandemic broke out. Since then, the premiere has been postponed several more times.
The film is the last 007 adventure starring Daniel Craig. In addition to the 53-year-old Brit, Oscar winner Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”), Lashana Lynch, Léa Seydoux and Christoph Waltz star in the film, which was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
Movies only for the cinema
After Amazon bought the Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer film studio, a Bond movie launch on the Amazon Prime streaming service seemed like an option. But producer Barbara Broccoli rejected these plans in an interview with the British trade magazine “Total Film”: “We make films. Films for the cinema. That’s what we do.” Her half-brother and business partner Michael B. Wilson said, “We’ve resisted such advances for 60 years.”
The film will be shown in Austrian cinemas starting September 30, 2021.
