After 18 months, U.S. travel restrictions will be lifted Nov. 8 for those vaccinated. Just in time for Thanksgiving.
An entry ban has been in place for European airline passengers since March 14, 2020. As of Nov. 8, fully vaccinated travelers can now fly from the EU to the U.S. again.
“The new U.S. travel policy requiring vaccination for foreign travelers to the United States will begin Nov. 8,” White House press secretary Kevin Munoz wrote on Twitter. “This announcement and date apply to both international air travel and ground travel.”
Austrian Airlines (AUA) announced weeks ago that it would then offer 16 weekly flights to the U.S. from Vienna, with two airports in New York, as well as Washington and Chicago.
The lifting of restrictions comes just in time for the busy vacation season, with Thanksgiving on Nov. 25, 2021.
