After new Corona infections were below the 5,000 mark from Sunday to All Saints’ Day, 5,398 new infections were now recorded again from Monday to Tuesday.
The number of active cases thus continues to rise to 49,469. The seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants is now 405.31 throughout Austria. In addition, there are 11 new deaths to report in connection with a Covid 19 infection, so that the pandemic has so far claimed 11,380 lives in Austria.
To date, there have been 840,902 positive test results in Austria. As of today (November 2, 9:30 a.m.), 780,053 people have recovered.
Threshold of 300 intensive care patients exceeded
The number of ICU patients with Covid-19 disease has surpassed the 300 threshold in the past 24 hours. Since Monday, 25 patients suffering from Covid-19 were added to domestic intensive care units, bringing the number of patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection in domestic intensive care units to 317 as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to figures from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Interior. The number of new Corona infections since Monday was 5,398.
Passing the 300 threshold is important because, according to the current staging plan, stage two goes into effect seven days after 300 Corona ICU patients are reached.
