From Friday to Saturday, a new all-time high since the outbreak of the pandemic was reached with 9,943 new Corona infections within 24 hours. From Sunday to Monday, 8,178 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. However, in comparison, it is the highest value ever reported on a Monday. The start of the week tends to always be the day with the lowest infection levels of the week compared to the following week, giving a good indication of the direction the week will take.
Today’s new infections are slightly above the previous seven-day average of 8,080, and the seven-day incidence is currently 635.44.
There are also 13 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,515 so far. The number of active cases rises to 76,547.
Hospitals are treating 2,002 patients. There are 377 patients in intensive care units.
In the past 24 hours, 201,087 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 4.07 percent.
