The day after the federal government announced a lockdown for unvaccinated people in Upper Austria and Salzburg, there are 13,152 new infections in Austria from Friday to Saturday. Today’s new infections are well above the average of 10,395 over the past seven days
With the 105,580 active cases, there are more than 100,000 Corona cases in Austria at the same time for the first time. There are also 48 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,689 so far. In the past 24 hours, 314,620 new PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 4.18 percent.
