As of Monday, stricter rules will apply when entering Austria – including a 2.5 G proof that is generally required upon entry.
The background is the now 7th amendment to the Covid-19 entry regulation 2021, with which, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs, antigen and antibody tests lose their validity as proof. Commuters will be exempt, who, according to the ministry, will need 3-G proof when entering Austria. However, the previously privileged duration of PCR tests of seven days for commuters will be reduced to a validity of 72 hours. Antigen tests are now only valid for 24 hours.
For persons subject to compulsory education, a “ninja pass” will also be considered proof of a low epidemiological risk. This applies “in the week in which the testing intervals are observed, also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of that week and (if testing is ensured immediately after entry) on Monday of the following week.”
