From Friday to Saturday, 11,671 new infections were reported in Austria. This number is below the average of the past seven days, where an average of 12,891 cases were recorded.
In addition, 65 new deaths were registered from yesterday to today.
Currently, there are 152,271 active cases of infection in Austria. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have already been 1,132,805 confirmed cases in Austria. 968,185 people have recovered.
608 people in intensive care units
In the hospital lay on Saturday 3,248 persons. 608 people were cared for in intensive care units. This number did not change since yesterday and increased by 84 patients within a week.
Highest incidence in Salzburg
The province with the highest seven-day incidence was Salzburg with 1,457.3, followed by Upper Austria, Carinthia and Tyrol (1,435.1, 1,387.3 and 1,289.2, respectively). Vorarlberg (1,232.4), Lower Austria (953.8), Styria (833.7), Burgenland (636.8) and Vienna (503.6) followed.
