Because of Omicron: Stricter entry rules for Great Britain in force
From today, Tuesday, anyone wishing to enter the United Kingdom must present a negative Corona test before he or she can enter the country. The rule applies to all adults, as well as children and adolescents over the age of twelve. The PCR or antigen test must not be older than 48 hours. The measure is intended to slow the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, according to the U.K. Department of Health.
Previously, the government had already made PCR testing mandatory for all travelers upon arrival. Quarantine is mandatory until a negative result is received. The government in London has also made it mandatory for arrivals from several African countries, including South Africa and Nigeria, to spend 10 days in hotel quarantine at their own expense.
