From Tuesday to Wednesday, there were 5,663 new infections in Austria. Today’s new infections are further below the average of 6,091 over the past seven days. In addition, this brings the number of active cases down further to 90,048. In the past 24 hours, 305,915 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 1.85 percent. The seven-day incidence rate decreased to 479.01.
There are also 58 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infection to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 12,979 lives in Austria so far.
The 638 intensive care patients were 32 fewer than on Tuesday. A total of 2,910 Covid-19-infected people were in hospitals across Austria on Wednesday, 205 fewer than the previous day.
