2899 new Corona infections have been recorded in Austria in the past 24 hours. A week ago, there were 3659 new cases. 52 people infected with the virus have died since yesterday. This brings the number of Corona deaths to 13,438.
In hospitals, the number of Corona patients continued to decline. 111 fewer people than before were hospitalized with Covid 19 infection. 2002 people had to be treated for illness, 516 of whom required intensive care – 18 fewer than yesterday.
Vienna reported 649 new infections, Upper Austria 509, Lower Austria 450 and Styria 351. Tyrol recorded 273 new cases, Carinthia 241, Vorarlberg 215, Salzburg 164 and Burgenland 47.
