Twenty-five new deaths linked to Covid 19 infection.
From Monday to Tuesday, 27,087 new infections were registered in Austria. This is below the average of 32,835 over the past seven days.
Currently, 342,898 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus. The seven-day incidence is 2,582.19. In the past 24 hours, 494,695 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 5.48 percent.
There are also 25 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infections to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 14,271 lives in Austria so far.
There is positive and negative news from the hospitals. While the total number of patients now stands at 2,072, 117 more people being treated than the previous day, the number of intensive care patients is declining. There are currently 194 patients there, down eight from Monday.
