The days before, unprecedented highs were recorded with almost 50,000 new cases on three consecutive days.

From Monday to Tuesday, 37,125 new infections were registered in Austria. This represents the highest ever on a Tuesday but is lower than the seven-day average of 42,917. Currently, 393,595 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.

The seven-day incidence is 3,375.10. In the past 24 hours, 431,530 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 8.60 percent.

Vaccinations

Of those, only 183 were first-time vaccinations, with third-time stings accounting for the majority at 2,086. In total, 6,808,821 people have already received at least one vaccination, according to E-vaccine passport data.

Exactly 6,229,578 people, or 69.4 percent of Austrians, have proper vaccination protection. Nearly 10,000 certificates expired last week alone.
