Spring is not only here astronomically: according to the ZAMG forecast, Austria is in for a sunny and mild week. Temperatures may even rise above 20 degrees.
Monday will be sunny and primarily cloudless; only in the southwest may there be some fog in the morning, but it will dissipate soon. The wind will be light to moderate from east to south. Early temperatures will be minus eight to plus three degrees, daytime highs eight to 18 degrees, with the highest values in the west.
On Tuesday, the sunny and uncloudy weather will continue, and skies over the whole of Austria will remain cloudless. Winds will be light to moderate, in the Danube region temporarily brisk from east to southeast. Temperatures will rise from minus seven to plus two degrees in the morning to eleven to 19 degrees.
Nothing new on Wednesday: High pressure will continue to bring bright sunny weather, often cloudless. The wind will be mostly light from the northeast to the southeast, minus five to plus four degrees in the morning, a maximum of 14 to 20 degrees during the day.
Up to 21 degrees possible on Thursday
On Thursday, sunny spells will continue for most of the day. A few scattered clouds may appear in the western mountains in the afternoon. The wind will be light. Early temperatures will range from minus to plus three degrees Celsius, with daily highs reaching 16 to 21 degrees.
On Friday, the influence of high pressure will temporarily weaken, but the very sunny weather will continue in large parts of the country. More clouds are expected in the mountains, where local showers cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. The wind will be light. The early morning temperatures will be between minus one and five degrees; the daily highs are between 15 and 21 degrees.
