Forty-six new deaths were reported related to covid infections.
The current Corona wave seems to be subsiding slightly. On Thursday, forecaster and mathematician Niki Popper said that the peak of the recent wave has probably been reached or already passed. Wastewater analyses also support this conclusion.
From Friday to Saturday, 33,508 new infections were registered in Austria. For comparison, last Saturday, the value was 41,999. The current new infections are below the average of the past seven days of 38,500. Currently, 430,094 people in Austria are actively infected with the Coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 3,027.73. In the past 24 hours, 456,940 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 7.33 percent.
There are also 46 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infection to report. To date, the Coronavirus has claimed 15,665 lives in Austria.
There are currently 3,199 people being treated in hospitals. In intensive care units, 238 people are now receiving treatment.
