Eight new deaths linked to Covid-19 infection.
From Monday to Tuesday, 5,395 new infections were registered in Austria. This is below the average of 8,681 infections over the past seven days. The 7-day incidence is currently 682.73. One hundred seventeen thousand nine hundred twenty-two people are presently actively infected.
In the past 24 hours, 94,029 PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 5.74 percent. In addition, eight people have died in connection with the Covid-19 infection. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 16,439 lives so far.
One thousand eight hundred eighty-two people are being treated in the hospital. This is 16 fewer than on Easter Monday. In the intensive care unit, 147 are in treatment, by seven less than the previous day.
