The Austrian Environmental Ministry takes over half of the costs for repairing broken appliances, for which you have to register on the web
It’s a small measure that should have a significant impact – especially in the minds of citizens: repairing instead of buying new.
The EU had already published the first circular economy package in 2015. Now money is available.
What is funded? Funding is available for the repair and cost estimate for repair work on almost all electrical and electronic equipment commonly used in private households. Those with a power cord, rechargeable battery, battery, or solar modules, such as coffee maker, kettle, washing machine, lamp, hairdryer, TV, hi-fi system, smartphone, notebook, e-bike, blood pressure monitor, drill, or high-pressure cleaner. But also, the repair of a broken wheel of a vacuum cleaner is subsidized.
How much is the subsidy? Each repair voucher covers 50 percent of the repair costs. However, the support is capped at 200 euros.
How do I get my voucher for the repair bonus? The campaign is aimed exclusively at private individuals resident in Austria. Per equipment starting today, Tuesday, a coupon can be requested on www.reparaturbonus.at.
Which costs are taken into account for the calculation of the bonus? The working time (incl. travel costs), the material costs, the shipping costs for material and spare parts orders, and the active time for the cost estimate preparation.
How many repair vouchers can be obtained? One coupon can be requested per electrical appliance, which can be used for a repair and a cost estimate. A new voucher can be ordered as soon as the voucher is used.
The vouchers can only be redeemed at partner companies that participate in the promotion and have registered on the www. reparaturbonus. at website. The prerequisite is to have a branch in Austria and a business license.
Is it possible to get a refund of the repair costs afterward? The repair voucher can only be redeemed during the promotion period, not later.
How long is the voucher valid? The voucher must be redeemed within three weeks (the validity period is indicated on the coupon). If this period expires, the voucher expires, but a new one can be applied for immediately.
How long does this promotion last? Vouchers can be applied for as long as budget funds are available. However, the longest possible deadline is December 31, 2023. Sixty million euros in funding is available for the first tranche up to the end of 2023. The allocation made available up to 2026 amounts to 130 million euros.
