From Wednesday to Thursday, 5,134 new infections were registered in Austria. This is above the average of 4,867 over the past seven days. Currently, 63,444 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 382.72. One hundred twenty thousand seventy-nine new PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 3.61 percent.
There are also 12 new deaths associated with Covid-19 infection to report. The pandemic has thus claimed 18,291 lives in Austria.
Currently, 818 people are being treated in hospitals, and 70 people receive intensive medical care.
Four thousand eight hundred twenty-eight vaccinations were carried out on Wednesday. Of these, 126 were first-time vaccinations and 449 second and 4,253 third vaccinations, according to data from the E vaccination passport.
