Four new deaths associated with Covid 19 infection have been reported.
From Friday to Saturday, 2,621 new infections were registered in Austria. This is both above the average of the past seven days (2,587), and significantly above the value of last Saturday, when 1,766 new infections had been detected. The seven-day incidence was 201.6 cases per 100,000 population. There were also four new deaths associated with coronavirus.
Currently, there are 35,888 active corona cases in Austria.
To date, there have been 4,264,738 positive test results in Austria. As of today, 18,669 people across Austria have died as a result of corona virus and 4,210,181 have recovered.
47 in intensive care units
There were 467 people in hospital, the same number as reported on Friday. 47 people continued to be cared for in intensive care units.
Vienna with highest seven-day incidence
The province with the highest seven-day incidence was again Vienna with 314.4, followed by Lower Austria, Salzburg and Vorarlberg (235.1, 195.7 and 190.7, respectively). Burgenland (172), Upper Austria (156.8), Tyrol (151.1), Styria (119.1) and Carinthia (112.1) also followed.
