There were 2,416 new Corona infections in Austria on Sunday.
There were 2,416 new Corona infections in Austria on Sunday in a 24-hour comparison.

The number of new Corona infections in Austria on Sunday was again higher than the figure for the same day the previous week. While 1,876 people were newly infected with the virus last Sunday, authorities recorded 2,461 people testing positive within 24 hours today (as of 9:30 a.m.). However, the figure is below the average for the past seven days (2,664). The seven-day incidence was 207.7 cases per 100,000 population.
40 people with corona are cared for in intensive care units.
To date, there have been 4,267,154 positive test results in Austria. As of today (June 5, 9:30 a.m.), 18,670 people have died and 4,212,299 have recovered from corona virus across Austria. Currently, 456 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the coronavirus. Of these, 40 are being cared for in intensive care units.

24-hour value was above last week’s average
A total of 41,707 PCR and antigen rapid tests were reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, 39,150 were meaningful PCR tests. The positive rate of PCR tests was 6.2 percent. This 24-hour figure was higher than the previous week’s average (an average of 2.3 percent of PCR tests positive).
790 Corona vaccinations were administered on Saturday
A total of 6,829,170 people have already received at least one vaccination, according to E-vaccination data. 5,799,681 people, or 64.6 percent of Austrians, have valid vaccination protection.
Vienna still the federal state with the highest incidence
The province with the highest seven-day incidence continued to be Vienna with 329.5, followed by Lower Austria, Salzburg and Vorarlberg (244.2, 187.7 and 185.3, respectively). Burgenland (172), Upper Austria (157.4), Tyrol (155.1), Carinthia (123.8) and Styria (120.1) also followed.
