The beautiful summer weather is over for the time being: The coming week will also be unsettled and prone to thunderstorms.

In the east, the remnants of the overnight disturbance will move away in the morning on Monday, but in the morning it may still rain here. During the day, mostly dry and occasionally sunny weather will prevail. Also over the western half, the sun will shine again and again. In the afternoon, however, stronger spring clouds will form and, especially in the west, rain showers and thunderstorms will become more frequent. Between Upper Austria and the Vienna area, moderate to brisk westerly winds will blow, weakening during the day. Early temperatures will reach twelve to 19 degrees, in the afternoon 21 to 28 degrees.

On Tuesday, a disturbance zone will lie over northwestern Austria and move on very slowly. Thus, the weather on Tuesday will be very unstable. Already in the morning, along and north of the Alps, dense clouds and rain showers will move through, which may be heavy in parts. At first, it will be sunny for longer in the east and southeast. But here, too, the tendency to showers and thunderstorms will increase significantly in the afternoon. The wind will be mostly light. Early temperatures will range from ten to 17 degrees, daytime highs from west to east between 20 and 27 degrees.

A disturbance zone is expected to cross Austria in the night to Wednesday, in the course of the day residual clouds will remain, especially on the northern side of the Alps, and there will be some rain. Otherwise, it will be at least occasionally sunny with clearing clouds. In the still unstable stratified air, large spring clouds will develop everywhere during the day, from which further rain showers may fall. The risk of thunderstorms, however, is only slight. The driest areas will be Vorarlberg and the Tyrolean Oberland. The wind will often blow only weakly from mainly westerly directions. The early temperature will be between eleven and 18 degrees, the daily high between 20 and 25 degrees, depending on the duration of sunshine.

Overnight on Thursday, the next disturbance zone will hit the country from the west, and so the day will start with dense clouds in most parts of the country, west of a line from the Mühlviertel to southeastern Styria it will already rain. Partly heavy rain showers are possible almost everywhere in the course of the day, it remains dry in the far east. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from westerly directions. Early temperatures will range from eleven to 16 degrees, with daytime highs between 21 and 26 degrees.

On Friday, rising air pressure will gradually calm the weather. With a northerly high-altitude current, however, often dense clouds will continue to accumulate on the northern side of the Alps, from which it may occasionally rain a little. The southern side of the Alps is the most favored, here it is very sunny with partly brisk winds and low or scattered cloud cover. The early temperature is between eleven and 16 degrees, the daily maximum temperature between 24 and 29 degrees.
