New Corona infections continue to rise in Austria, with 6,406 new cases of the coronavirus reported on Sunday (6/19/2022, 9:30 a.m.). In Vienna alone, there were more than 2,000 new cases.
Six thousand four hundred six new infections with coronavirus in Austria have been officially reported within 24 hours until 9:00 a.m. Sunday. This is more than twice as many as in the same period a week ago (2,989). There has been one death since Saturday, with a seven-day average of 4.6. There were 543 covid patients in hospital (16 more than the previous day) and 35 in intensive care units (up to one).

The number of new infections on Saturday was above the average for the previous seven days (5,409). The seven-day incidence was 421.6 cases per 100,000 population. As of Sunday, there were 59,693 active cases in Austria, up 2,993 from the previous day.
There have already been 4,329,279 confirmed cases in Austria since the pandemic began. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 4,250,857 people have recovered; within the past 24 hours, 3,412 are considered recovered. In the past seven days, 32 deaths have been recorded. The Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 18,729 lives in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 population, 208.6 people have died from or with covid-19 since the pandemic began.
