Corona case numbers in Austria are rising at an alarmingly rapid pace. On Saturday, 10,071 new infections and one death are recorded.
Due to the massive increase in new Corona infections, the situation in hospitals is also becoming more tense again.
There were 6,398 new Corona cases on Monday, 10,189 on Tuesday, 12,509 on Wednesday, 12,506 on Thursday, and 10,424 on Friday – the summer virus wave is hitting Austria with full force, and the situation is also coming to a head again in hospitals. “The experts of the crisis team are monitoring the situation very closely,” says meanwhile from the policy. New Corona measures are not yet planned, but they are no longer excluded due to the massive increase in cases.
There are 10,071 Corona new infections and one death. For comparison, a week ago, Saturday, June 25, 2022, there were 8,912 new infections and one end.
The summer wave has not yet peaked, according to the GECKO Commission. Instead, a secret document from the expert panel predicts a veritable explosion of cases. For example, at the peak of the summer wave, the experts expect up to 70,000 cases – and that’s per day! However, the extent to which the corona figures will rise will also depend on the respective measures.
