The city of Vienna is responding to the high demand for Covid 19 boosters and is greatly expanding the existing Corona vaccination offer.
To handle the additional demand with the shortest possible waiting times, the city’s vaccination centers will not only be open on a specific day of the week but, in the future, will again be open Monday through Saturday, with two vaccination lines per vaccination center.
There was a two-hour wait for Corona vaccination at the Austria Center (ACV) in Vienna on Sunday. Due to the high demand for booster vaccinations, the city is now expanding the existing offer again. The city vaccination centers will – the first start following Monday – again open six days a week, new vaccination dates unlocked. Eight days ago, the federal capital released the fourth sting for everyone over twelve.
ACV is the main vaccination street in Vienna
The main vaccination street in Vienna is the ACV. The city pointed out Monday that increased congress activity at the ACV may continue to lead to longer waiting times. Admission stops are also possible. Current occupancy rates for the ACV immunization line can be found at www.acv.at/de/gesundheitsservice/impfen. Over the weekend, those individuals who could not be vaccinated or did not want to wait that long were given a vaccination voucher for other centers.
Corona booster vaccination has been given to 12,599 people in the last seven days
Last week, 12,599 people in Vienna got their booster vaccination. To handle the additional demand with the shortest possible waiting times, the city’s vaccination centers will again be open Monday through Saturday with two vaccination lines per vaccination center, the city announced in a release Monday. The vaccination center TownTown in Landstrasse makes the following Monday the beginning. From July 18, the vaccination centers Karmelitergasse in Leopoldstadt and Gasgasse in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus will also be open Monday to Saturday. On July 25, the vaccination centers Schrödingerplatz in Donaustadt, Schöpfwerk in Meidling, and Wassermanngasse in Floridsdorf extended only three weeks their vaccination hours from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00-17:00.
Activation of additional vaccination appointments
In addition to the expansion of physical vaccination services, additional appointments will be gradually activated for all vaccination centers. These can be booked as usual via the health telephone 1450 or online at impfservice.wien, informed the city.
Viennese are asked to take up the offer. In particular, the basic immunization – that is, three vaccinations – should be completed. At one’s request, the booster, i.e., the fourth sting, can be administered. This applies particularly to the wave of infections in the summer, in contact with people with risk diseases, who themselves have risk diseases, and when visiting members of vulnerable groups. A fourth sting is also recommended in cases of high contact frequency in everyday life, especially at the workplace, at events, or preceding trips abroad.
