In September, the climate bonus and anti-inflation bonus will be paid. However, not all account holders will also get the 500 euros on their account.
“The climate bonus and anti-inflation bonus will be paid out to all people in Austria as early as September,” the federal government says. Three hundred thousand people received the money even earlier, from August 25. Who deposited FinanzOnline data gets the 500 euro on the account, all others by coupon by post office sent. Because now it is new: Not all FinanzOnline users get the bonus on the account.
“The climate bonus is paid in two ways. All those who have entered a current account number in FinanzOnline or receive benefits through the pension insurance institution will have the money transferred to their account,” the government says. Still, there is a but in the appendix: “Account data that was last updated or used by the Ministry of Finance for a payment before January 1, 2020, cannot be used for security reasons.”
“For this, the Ministry of Climate Protection receives the necessary data from the Ministry of Finance and the pension insurance. For the people in Austria, of whom we do not have current account data, or who may not have an account, there will be the climate bonus as a voucher,” it says. Means: Those who did not update their account data in FinanzOnline 2021 or 2022 get despite account possession the 500-Euro-Bonus as a coupon by post office sent.
The good news for those affected is that the account transfer and mailing are to take place as early as September. “No matter in which form – no application is necessary for the climate bonus. The disbursement takes place in any case automatically. For questions about the climatic bonus, the Hotline is attainable under 0800 8000 80. Further information is available on the homepage klimabonus.gv.at,” announces the federal government. “Who helps quickly, helps twice – we do both: Already from September, the climate bonus and anti-inflation bonus will be paid to all people in Austria,” says Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP).
