If you’re not at home, you’ll pay for it – at least that’s the case with the climate bonus because a postal power of attorney for pickup at a branch costs a whopping 20 euros.
For some Austrians who receive the climate bonus by mail, it is not worth 500 euros, but only 479.60 euros. This can happen if no one is at home when the delivery is attempted, and the RSa letter is deposited at the post office branch. Then there are several possibilities:
Personal collection
The recipient picks it up personally at the branch; a photo ID is sufficient.
Power of attorney
Or he issues a postal power of attorney, with which the bonus can be picked up by “authorized persons,” according to the Climate Ministry. However, this postal power of attorney costs 20.40 euros. And: You need a “My Post Account.”
A power of attorney, which can be downloaded from klimabonus.gv.at is only valid for receiving the letter at the place of residence, but not for picking it up at the post office.
