Hundreds of thousands of citizens have not yet received their climate bonus. The complaints are piling up; the climate protection ministry is looking into the reasons.
The account transfers of the climate bonus have been completed. However, hundreds of thousands have not yet received it. In the coming days, around 350,000 vouchers will still be delivered. Meanwhile, the inquiries of numerous reader reporters, who report problems with the payment of the bonuses, accumulate.
At the service hotline, an employee is said to have explained to a Croatian resident in Vienna that a payment glitch was said to have occurred with EU citizens. According to the “Heute” newspaper, numerous affected persons report the same problems. They all have one thing in common: they are EU citizens, do not have Austrian citizenship, have lived in Austria for several years, or were even born here.
“We recently received more inquiries on this topic and are evaluating the situation. However, this may still take a few days,” says the Ministry of Climate Protection.
It has been regulated, nevertheless, that all persons who have 2022 passed the requirements on the climate bonus will receive this also. “More than 350,000 vouchers are still on the way to their recipients.” In any case, nothing more will be transferred to the account. So anyone who has not yet received 500 euros should check their mailbox in the coming days.
