4,853 new Corona infections were reported Friday

On Friday, 4,853 new Corona infections were reported in Austria, lower than the past seven-day average of 5,886 positive tests.

The seven-day incidence of Corona fell further to 456 cases per 100,000 population. There were 2,008 Corona-infected persons in the hospital on Friday morning, 88 fewer than the previous day. The number of covid intensive care patients remained the same at 99 critically ill. Meanwhile, 17 deaths were added to a total of 20,963 pandemic victims.

The number of actively Corona-infected remained about the same as the previous day.
In total, there have been 5,426,408 confirmed SARS-CoV-2 cases in Austria. Five million three hundred thirty-nine hundred twenty-seven people have experienced one or more Corona infections; within 24 hours, 4,928 were again considered free of the virus. As a result, the number of actively infected persons remained the same as the previous day at approximately 74,500 cases. The effective reproduction rate, which indicates how many more people an infected person will infect, is currently 0.79, compared to 0.91 a week ago.

13,288 Corona vaccinations were performed on Thursday, of which 12,103 were booster vaccinations (fourth and each subsequent dose) after the three-part basic immunization. A total of 1,098,918 people have received booster vaccinations to date.
