A few days ago, the city presented details of the new energy bonus for Viennese citizens. The trial registration is already running; officially, the bonus can be applied for from tomorrow, Monday.
A partial start for the application was presented a week ago, shortly after that. It was a test run to fix possible errors in time. Thus, about 200,000 households in Favoriten and Donaustadt have already received a letter with information and password. The first 30 people have already received the energy bonus of 200 euros.
By Tuesday, the next 200,000 households in districts one to seven will receive their notification. After that, the other districts will follow in stages. Two hundred thousand households in districts 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15 will receive the letter on December 9 and 10, and on December 13 and 14, the note will arrive in districts 14, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Finally, on December 15 and 16, districts 8, 20, 21, and 23 will follow. By December 17, everyone should have received the letter.
In the account within a few days
The online applications will be automatically processed immediately. The energy bonus should thus arrive in the account within a few days. Viennese citizens can check for themselves whether they meet the requirements for the bonus. An assistant for checking income limits is online for this purpose.
The city has reserved 130 million euros for the new energy bonus. The money is intended to cushion the increase in energy costs for people. Single-person households with a gross annual income of 40,000 euros or multi-person households with a gross yearly income of 100,000 euros are eligible. Of the approximately one million households in Vienna, around 650,000 are eligible. That is about two-thirds of all Viennese households.
