We are in a more favorable phase than ever before, but this is still a pandemic, Hans Kluge told the news agency dpa. However, he also sees signs that we are just entering a new phase of the pandemic.
Kluge cited the easier transmissibility and lower disease severity of the dominant omicron variant, combined with the higher immunity of the population, as reasons.
