Early temperatures will still be frosty in the coming week, but highs will climb into double digits. Valentine’s Day will be sunny and mild, up to 13 degrees.
On Wednesday, even up to 15 degrees plus are expected. Especially in the north and east, but also on the eastern edge of the Alps and in southeastern Styria, high foggy residual clouds often persist on Monday morning. These will only thin out slowly in the afternoon and gradually make way for the sun. However, the humid layer is particularly tenacious over the eastern lowlands. However, the weather will be sunny all day in the other parts of the country. Early morning fog in inner alpine basins and valleys will clear during the morning. The wind comes from the northwest and blows weakly to moderately. Early temperatures will reach minus 7 to plus 3 degrees, and daytime highs will be 4 to 11 degrees.
Cloudless and sunny weather on Valentine’s Day
The high-pressure influence will ensure often cloudless and very sunny weather on Valentine’s Day on Tuesday. However, especially in the northeast, in the Danube valley and some inner Alpine basins and valleys, fog or high fog may persist tenaciously during the morning hours. The wind comes from the northwest and blows partly moderately at the eastern edge of the Alps. Early temperatures will range between minus seven and 3 degrees. With 5 to 13 degrees, the Day’s maximum temperatures will be reached.
Sun on Wednesday with high-pressure influence
With high-pressure influence, the sun will shine widely on Wednesday, and the sky will be cloudless over long stretches. Only at Lake Constance, in basins in the south and generally over the lowlands in the north and east, will there be some fog and high fog patches. But even these will clear during the Day. The wind will be mostly light. Early temperatures will reach minus 8 to minus 1 degree, daytime highs 4 to 15 degrees, with the highest values at medium altitudes.
Fog patches on Thursday
On Thursday, there will initially be a few fog and high fog patches over the lowlands in the north, east and southeast. However, these will clear during the Day, and then sunny weather will prevail. However, passing high cloud fields can cloud the sunny impression, at least temporarily. The wind will be mostly light; only moderate westerly winds will occur in the Danube region. Early temperatures will reach minus 7 to 0 degrees, with daytime highs 6 to 13 degrees.
Friday brings dense clouds and rain
On Friday, a disturbance zone will bring widespread dense clouds and some rain. The snow line will rise from the west from around 1,300 to 2,000 meters above sea level during the day. Only the south will have favourable weather conditions. Here it will remain largely dry, and the sun will sometimes come out. The wind will be moderate, in the east also partly moderate from the west; only in the south will it remain light. Depending on the wind, early temperatures will rise to minus 5 to plus 6 degrees Celsius, the daily highs of 7 to 11 degrees.
