Sunny weather will continue until the end of next week, according to a forecast by Geosphere Austria.
May is coming to an early end of summer. Beyond that, it will remain mostly sunny and pleasantly warm until next Friday, with the tendency for showers and thunderstorms increasing toward the end of the week. The summer is thus not only calendar-technically before the door.
Pentecost Monday brings scattered showers
On Whit Monday, the sun will initially shine from the sky everywhere before spring clouds will form over the mountains and hills in the morning. In the afternoon at the latest, the tendency to isolated showers and thunderstorms will increase somewhat between Upper Carinthia and the Silvretta. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from north to east. Early temperatures will reach five to 13 degrees, and daytime highs will be 20 to 27 degrees.
Brisk wind in the east on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the Eastern Alps will remain on the edge of a high-pressure system centred over the British Isles. During the first half of the day, partly dense cloud fields will move through. Until the afternoon, the sunny weather character will prevail despite source clouds. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are again most likely in the west or southwest. In the east, the north wind will freshen up briskly. Early morning temperatures will range between six and 15 degrees, and afternoon temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees.
Sunny weather prevails
On Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny throughout the day. Only over the mountains will the spring clouds become somewhat denser in the afternoon; local rain showers and thunderstorms are also possible here. The wind will be light to moderate, partly brisk in the foothills of the Alps, from northwest to east. In the morning, five to 14 degrees and 19 to 26 degrees are expected during the day.
The sunny and summery weather will continue on Thursday. Over the mountains, however, the tendency for showers and thunderstorms will increase somewhat in the afternoon with partly mighty spring clouds. The wind will be weak to moderate from northwest to northeast—five to 13 degrees in the morning and 20 to 26 degrees during the day.
Increasing risk of thunderstorms on Friday
Friday will also be mostly sunny and summery. However, the liability will increase somewhat, so the tendency for showers and thunderstorms will rise more clearly during the day than in previous days. Thundershowers are also possible away from the mountains. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from the northwest to the northeast. The early morning temperatures will reach seven to 13 degrees, and the daily highs will be 22 to 26 degrees.
