After the summery days, unsettled weather with local showers and thunderstorms will arrive at the weekend with decreasing high-pressure influence and unstable air masses.
Especially in the north and east of the country, it will also be somewhat more relaxed, according to the forecast of the experts from Geosphere Austria.
Sunny weather on Friday
On Friday, however, the high-pressure influence will ensure primarily sunny weather; in the south and the mountains, there will also be some spring clouds during the day and in places, local, partly thundery showers must be expected. The wind will continue to blow mostly weakly from northerly directions, only north of the Danube and in the eastern lowlands; it may also freshen up moderately. Early temperatures will reach eight to 14 degrees, with daytime highs of 22 to 28 degrees.
Showers and thunderstorms in the mountains on Saturday
The high-pressure influence will decrease somewhat on Saturday. The tendency for more intense showers and thunderstorms will increase in the mountains, especially in the west and south. However, decidedly sunny weather will prevail in the north and east. Winds will be light to moderate in the western Danube region, also brisk from easterly directions. Early temperatures will range from eight to 14 degrees, and daytime highs will be from 19 to 25 degrees, although it will be somewhat more relaxed, especially in the north and east.
Dry and sunny weather on Sunday in Upper Austria
It will be dry and sunny on Sunday for longer in Upper Austria and northern Lower Austria. Otherwise, there will be more clouds and, at times during the day, rain showers, sometimes even thunderstorms. The sun will only appear occasionally; only in the east will it become increasingly sunny again from noon. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from the northeast to the southeast. The early morning temperatures will range from eight to 15 degrees and the daily highs from 18 to 24 degrees.
Rain showers on Monday
On Monday, unstable air masses will dominate the weather. In addition to sunny spells in the morning, more spring clouds will form during the day, followed by some rain showers, which may be locally very heavy, especially in the afternoon and evening. Thunder and lightning are also to be expected, especially in the mountains. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from mainly northeast to southeast. Early temperatures will reach ten to 15 degrees, with daytime highs of 20 to 25 degrees.
Unsettled weather on Tuesday
The unsettled weather will continue on Tuesday. Especially in the east, clouds will predominate, and rain showers, which may be locally heavy, will continue throughout the day. Otherwise, high-level spring clouds will often form during the day, leading to rain showers or thunderstorms. The wind will be light away from the showers and thunderstorms. Early temperatures range from ten to 16 degrees, and daytime highs from 17 to 25 degrees, with the higher values in the west.
