The City of Vienna makes around 140 million euros available as the Vienna Housing Bonus 23. It is intended to help the Viennese cope with inflation.
The housing bonus amounts to 200 euros per household. Applications can be submitted online until September 30, and more than two-thirds of Viennese households are eligible. So far, the housing bonus has been applied about 500,000 times, and 100 million euros have already been paid out.
Between July 12 and 21, an information letter was sent to every Viennese address. This letter contained an individual password that could be used to apply for the bonus online. Most of the applications were received on July 21, a total of 47,348. If one is eligible, the bonus is transferred within a few days or paid out by postal order.
“We process 20,000 applications per day and thus achieve a very rapid implementation for the Viennese. We offer a wide range of support services through our 80 partner organizations and our service telephone for all those who need help with the application process,” explains Agnes Berlakovich, Head of MA 40 (Social Affairs, Social and Health Law).
The application for the Vienna Housing Bonus can be made online until September 30. Those who cannot do this themselves online and also have no possibility of support from family and friends can turn to the service telephone of MA 40. Under 01 4000 8040, one is helped from Monday to Friday between 8 and 18 o’clock.
The income limit for a one-person household is a gross salary of 40,000 euros in 2022, rising to 100,000 euros for multi-person households. Further information and an online income assistant are available at www.wien.gv.at/wohnbonus23.
