People have been discussing how often you should wash your hair for years. Stylist Rosi Fernandez, who runs a hair salon in Spain, said in an interview with “Vogue” that twice a week is ideal. She said this is also advisable for people with thicker or dry hair.
Because the follicles become clogged and lack oxygen, you should wash your hair more frequently. And this can result in several issues, including hair loss, dandruff, sensitivity, flakes on the scalp, and itching.
Even if the hair looks clean, Fernandez advises washing it. Because, without realizing it, they are contaminated by pollution, sweat, and tobacco smoke.
How pollution affects hair was studied as early as 1994 by the Industrial Toxicology Research Center in Lucknow. “At that time, it was found that suspended particles, smoke and pollutant gases were deposited on the hair and scalp, causing inflammatory and irritating reactions that can lead to hair loss.”
Hair being washed every day?
According to Fernandez, whether it is necessary to wash hair more often depends on several factors. For example, on water quality, whether you live in the city or the countryside, or play sports. Those who want can also wash them daily. According to a study published in 2021, this also does not damage the hair.
