The Babaylan Austria will stage this coming Saturday, November 11, 2023, an opulent masquerade ball at the Marriott Hotel Vienna.
Light is life. Let your light shine. This is the motto of the Babaylan Masquerade Ball!
“Shining our light, as Babaylanes, is about making a mark, making a difference, ignoring the negative opinions of others and being a positive influencer. And I think “our light” is that special, unique, one-of-a-kind thing that God has deposited in us to make us who we are. The most beautiful aspect of our lives is our light because it reflects our unique qualities, values, and worth and how we will influence others by devoting our time and energy,” Dorcy Aigner, the president of Babaylan, explained the meaning of the event’s motto.
The Babaylan President is happy to announce that the masquerade ball has attracted many patrons from Vienna’s Filipino and international communities.
27 years ago, the first Philippine Women’s Organization in Austria was founded and registered as Babaylan Austria.
The objectives of the organization are:
to promote women’s empowerment, assist women in distressed situations, encourage women’s liberation through organized educational programs, help promote Philippine traditions and customs among the younger generation, and establish links of support with women’s groups of other nationalities in Austria.
During the past 27 years, Babaylan Austria has developed from a small, striving group of women into a strong pillar of the Filipino Community in Austria. This is because Babaylan Austria was one of the strongest movers behind the formation of the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA).
The Masquerade Ball 2023 of the Babaylan will start at 18 hours with dinner and a program. The event’s highlight is Search for Mr. and Mrs. Masquerade Ball 2023.
