Vienna, Austria – The festive season comes alive in Vienna with the opening of Marikit Markt, Austria’s first Filipino Christmas pop-up market. Initiated by Sheryl Bongalon, a proud Pinay mother, the event celebrates Filipino culture and tradition under the banner “Paskong Pinoy in Vienna.”

Located at Sebastian-Kelchgasse 4-6/1 in the 14th district, the market welcomes visitors from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024. This unique pop-up offers a vibrant selection of goods, including clothing, jewelry, arts and crafts, books, décor, handmade items, and holiday gifts. Filipino cuisine takes center stage, evoking nostalgic flavors of the Philippines during the Christmas season.

Partner and venue Lorelei’s Pan has curated a special menu for the occasion, featuring beloved Filipino dishes like adobo, pancit, and lechon kawali. To top it off, they will prepare bibingka and puto bumbong, traditional Christmas delicacies, exclusively for the event.

Shoppers and food lovers can expect a cozy, community-centred atmosphere that promises to “feel like home in the Philippines this December.”

Marikit Markt is a testament to the enduring Filipino Christmas spirit, even far from home. Bongalon shared, “This market is not just about shopping; it’s about sharing our culture and bringing families together in celebration.”

Don’t miss this chance to experience a slice of Filipino Christmas magic in Vienna!
