VIENNA, AUSTRIA – September 4, 2026 — The Filipino community in Austria is gearing up for PAMANA V, a major celebration of Filipino heritage, culture, unity and friendship with Austria, taking place this Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Vienna.

After months of planning, coordination, rehearsals and community cooperation, PAMANA V is now entering its final preparations. The event will bring together Filipino organizations, families, cultural groups, performers, artists and friends of the Philippines and Austria for a colorful day of cultural celebration and community solidarity.

PAMANA V by the Numbers

The scale of this year’s celebration reflects the strong participation of the Filipino community:

  • 43 participating organizations
  • 31 parade participants
  • 7 entries in the Festival Dance Competition
  • 18 community, cultural, service and food tents
  • 3 official caterers serving packaged food through donation coupons

Grand Parade Begins at Stephansplatz

The festivities will begin with the assembly of participants at Stephansplatz from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.

The Grand Parade will start at 9:45 a.m., bringing together participants in a colorful display of Filipino culture and community spirit as they make their way toward Sigmund Freud Park.

The parade is expected to showcase Philippine flags, traditional costumes, banners, cultural groups and representatives from participating organizations.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

The programme at Sigmund Freud Park will feature a wide range of cultural and community activities.

Among the highlights are the performance of the Philippine and Austrian national anthems by Musikverein Leopoldau, messages from diplomatic and community representatives, and the highly anticipated Festival Dance Competition, featuring seven vibrant Philippine festivals.

A special presentation will also showcase the Princess Urduja Higante, created by Gerry De Guzman of FVAA.

The programme will further feature John Herzog’s 4 Directions Art Project, community painting sessions, cultural performances, guest artists, an awarding ceremony and a tombola.

Final Preparations Underway

In the final days before the celebration, organizers and participating communities have been working together on a range of preparations, including:

  • Final community briefings and rehearsals at Leopoldauer Pfarrhof
  • Unity Dance practice
  • Parade sequencing
  • Banner and costume coordination
  • Programme preparation
  • Tent assignments
  • First Aid arrangements
  • Sanitation and security planning
  • Park housekeeping coordination

These preparations are designed to ensure that PAMANA V will be a safe, organized and enjoyable celebration for everyone.

Important Reminders for Visitors

Organizers are appealing to all participants and visitors to help keep Sigmund Freud Park clean, safe and orderly.

Each participating organization is responsible for its tent and the surrounding area. Everyone is encouraged to dispose of rubbish only in the designated waste areas and to cooperate with the event organizers and park management.

Packaged food will be available from the three official caterers through donation coupons. A separate €1 refundable cleanliness deposit will apply to each food or drink order.

  • Toilets: Four toilets will be available free of charge.
  • Lost and Found: Available at the ENFiD tent.
  • First Aid: Available at the joint Wiener Sozialdienst and BPGÖ tent.
