The CoV situation in Russia is coming to a head. On Sunday, the authorities reported another record high since the beginning of the pandemic a year and a half ago, with 890 deaths within 24 hours. For days now, the statistics have been showing negative records beyond the 800 mark for deaths related to the virus. The Kremlin recently called the numbers alarming.
According to official CoV statistics, a total of nearly 210,000 patients died with the virus. However, a high number of unreported cases is assumed.
Recently, the number of new infections has also increased – today to 25,700 new cases within one day. According to official figures, only 50 million people have received at least the first of mostly two necessary vaccinations. That’s 34 percent of the population. 146 million people live in Russia. There are currently no major CoV restrictions there.
