From Thursday to Friday, 6,186 new infections were registered in Austria. This is slightly above the average of 6,119 diseases over the past seven days. The 7-day incidence is currently 481.19. Currently, 82,597 people are actively infected.

In the past 24 hours, 239,519 PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.58 percent.

In addition, 21 new deaths have been reported. This brings the pandemic death toll to 18,138 so far.

Under 100 intensive care patients for the first time

The hospital is currently treating 1,353 patients, 29 fewer than on Thursday. Intensive care units are treating under 100 people for the first time since Aug. 26, 2021. Specifically, there are 99, 14 fewer than the previous day.
