The free streaming service Amazon Freevee is now also available in Austria, as Amazon announced in early March.
“Since our launch in Germany in August 2022, we have successfully offered a wide selection of exclusive originals and high-quality, licensed movies and T.V. shows for free and without a subscription,” Christian Hoeweler, head of Amazon Freevee, Germany and Austria, as published by kurier.at. “After the launch in Germany, we look forward to making our offer available to Prime and non-Prime customers in Austria.”
This is the streaming service’s third launch outside the U.S. – following the U.K. and Germany last year.
Originals
Freevee has been unlocked in parts before this. Now the ad-supported service launched with Amazon Freevee Originals such as “Bosch: Legacy,” “Leap” and “Love Accidentally,” as well as a library of popular movies and T.V. shows such as “2 Broke Girls,” “Grimm,” “O.C. California” and “Toxic,” according to Amazon. Indes offers thematically programmed live, linear channels from BBC Food, “X-Factor: The Unbelievable,” FilmRise series and Craction.
The service will be available to viewers in Austria in the coming weeks via a standalone app on Fire T.V., via the Prime Video app or the website. On Prime Video, customers can access Amazon Freevee content via the “Popular Movies and T.V. – Free with Ads” carousel without a subscription. New content will be added every month, according to Amazon, including originals, popular licensed movies, television shows and linear channels of free entertainment from a wide variety of genres.
