Read Time:37 Second
With 1,552 new infections, Austria today, Thursday, again recorded a record high in new infections. However, as the AGES now predicts, the worst time is just around the corner: experts expect up to 3,000 to 4,000 new infections per day in December, when the flu season begins.
This would also significantly increase the number of hospitalizations. Currently, 664 people are undergoing hospital treatment – an increase of 31% over the past 7 days (an increase of 11% in intensive care).
However, the upcoming flu season also poses major problems for diagnosticians, as the symptoms are very similar and occur at best with different frequencies. In the end, only the test can provide clarity.
