Interior Minister Karl Nehammer called on the population in Vienna again in the morning to stay at home if possible. “If it is possible, please stay at home.” Those who do not have to leave their house or apartment for professional or other important reasons should not do so either.

The city center is not accessible by public transportation. The subway lines U1, U2, U3 and U4 do not stop at the inner city stations. Several streetcar and bus lines are being diverted or shortened, Wiener Linien announced at the start of operations.

“Secondly, avoid the city center,” Nehammer continued. School children should stay at home if possible, but schools and kindergartens are open for parents who are unable to look after their children.
