Worldwide, more than 65.19 million people have been proven to be infected with the coronavirus. This is the result of a Reuters census based on official data. More than 1.5 million people died with or as a result of the virus. Since the virus first became known in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, it has spread to more than 210 countries and territories. By far the most cases of infection are in the USA, followed by India, Brazil, Russia and France.
