The British coronavirus mutation has not yet been found in Austria. “There has been no finding so far,” Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) said today. However, the Academy of Science and the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) would “very strongly carry out sequencing.” These investigations have been intensified, the health minister said.
Results would usually be available after a week, he said. “If there is a finding, that will of course be published,” Anschober stated. The new variant in Great Britain most likely makes the virus more easily transmissible.
